Teri M. Morrisse,
Mediator, Facilitator, is the Director
of Portsmouth Mediation. Teri is on The
District Court Mediator Panel in
Massachusetts
and contracts with the courts in New Hampshire. The cases vary from business, family
and housing disputes. She has worked for
over 15 years in Labor Disputes,
Corporate Mediation, and Contract
Negotiation.
Teri has been selected to contract with the District Courts in New Hampshire. The State Of New
Hampshire has initiated a new District
Court Mediation program to offer the
participants an alternative to the
courtroom environment. This small
claims mediation program is the first of
its kind in New Hampshire. Teri is a member of
The Association of Conflict Resolution
Washington DC, The New England
Association of Conflict Resolution,
Washington State ACR as well as New
Hampshire Association of Conflict
Resolution and AFCC (the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts) National and belongs to the MA chapter. Teri completed
studies with Alhadeff Mediation Services
in Seattle Washington, Mediation Works
Inc. Executive Mediation Training,
Summary Process, Small Claims, and
Massachusetts Marital Mediation Advanced
training in Boston. Teri has also studied
negotiation under the instruction of
Erica Fox, professor of negotiation at
Harvard and will participate in the
negotiation initiative at Harvard,
June 2006.
Teri is a paralegal and continues to study in the field. She continues mediator
mentoring with Rose Hill-Bagley of New
Hampshire, Rose Hill Mediation Services
Concord New Hampshire.
Teri currently
contracts with the State Courts of
New Hampshire
To mediate cases in the District Courts and remains a volunteer on the District Court Panel in MA.
District Court work involves Summary Process, Housing & Eviction
(small claims mediation to a maximum value of $5000.00), Mediation of Parental Rights and
Responsibilities, as well as Domestic
Disputes. She has
been selected to participate and assist
in the committee for continuing
education in conflict resolution, New
Hampshire.
Teri offers Marital
Mediation to those who are looking for a
peaceful resolution in all aspects of
divorce. Teri currently offers post-marital mediation. Post-marital mediation has a focus on divorced couples who need assistance with parenting agreements. Mediation services for clients
sharing alternative lifestyles is
available as well. Teri has also
participated in Labor Dispute Resolution
and contract negotiation in aviation. Employment mediation is offered to those who seek a neutral third party to help resolve workplace disputes.
Rose Hill-Bagley
holds her BS from NH College and her MS
from Springfield College. She began her
career in mediation in 1983 as Director
of the NH Mediation Program Inc. The
agency served families experiencing
conflict with adolescents, divorcing
couples, Civil, small claims and
probate, as well as offered training for
volunteers to mediate with these
families.
Over the last 20 +
years she has mediate hundreds of cases,
trained over 300 mediators and
participated in many hours of training
and workshops to refine, update, or
learn new skills.
Rose currently
contracts with the State Courts to
mediate cases from the Probate, District
and Superior Courts. Probate cases
include guardianships, inheritances,
estate trusts, care of parents,
visitation of confined parties,
termination of parental rights and
adoption conflicts. Superior Court
involves mediation of custody and
parenting disputes. District Court work
is for small claims mediation.
Over time Rose
worked to begin the first school peer
mediation program in New Hampshire as
well as the first Victim Offender
Mediation program. She worked with New
Hampshire association and the
legislature to promulgate marital
mediator certification, and worked with
other Parent/Child programs in the state
to develop standards for training of
mediators and client services. She has
helped expand services into many arenas
which include employee relations, human
rights issues, real estate conflicts and
other interpersonal conflict areas.
She conducted the
training of mediators for the Department
of Special Education, and was a member
of the committee, which planned and
implemented the Guardian ad Litem
Foundation of Washington DC which holds
a contract with the US Department of
Justice to mediate Americans With
Disabilities complaints. Most recently
Rose participated in a training to
facilitate Victim Offended Dialogue
through the state prison and currently
serves as facilitator for this new
project.
